Commendation for Sdr. Ng Wei Aik for humility and boldness

DAPSY Bukit Mertajam commends Sdr. Ng Wei Aik for his courage and humility to apologize to restaurant owner Syed Kassali Mohd. Aliyar for hurts caused when Sdr. Ng participated in an operation by MPPP enforcement team at Syed Kassali’s outlet on Jan 2.

In this age rogue politics, the humility of a Yang Berhormat is a breeze of fresh air and should be an example to all leaders who may have unintentionally caused hurts and pains during the course of duty.

DAPSY Bukit Mertajam also would like to congratulate Syed Kassali for his graciousness to accept Sdr. Ng’s apology and willing to end this misunderstanding amicably and has advised others not to play up racial sentiments over this issue.

However, it is regrettable that some quarters have chosen to manipulate this issue for their selfish agenda and turned this into an issue of politics, race and religion. They chose to twist an episode of MPPP enforcement team and Sdr. Ng doing their respective jobs into a political drama. This shows that certain parties are still clinging on to racism to gain political support and to discredit the State Government. We ask all peace loving and fair-minded Penangites and Malaysians to reject such radical elements which will bring destruction to our country.

DAPSY Bukit Mertajam would like to express our full support to Sdr. Ng Wei Aik to continue his excellent service as KOMTAR State Assemblyman and the Political Secretary of Penang Chief Minister without fear and favour.

We would also like to commend the MPPP enforcement team for their service to ensure businesses and restaurants abide by council by-laws for the health and safety of everyone, especially the consumers.

Finally, we are confident both Sdr. Ng and MPPP will not be discouraged by the selfish political manipulation of the Jan 2 operation and will continue serve the people in line with the C.A.T principle of the Penang State Government.

Joseph Wong (Secretary),

on behalf of DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) Bukit Mertajam
