Perak State Assembly Meeting - 30 March 2010

The next Perak State Assembly sitting will take place on Tuesday 30 March 2010. Below are photos of the last sitting on October 28 last year when police imposed a '500 meters no go' zone around the building ......????...

..note the yellow tape...The Barisan Team also started the meeting before the opposition was seated in the hall...the meeting that day was "settled" in one morning...all issues passed..budget included... i was hoping it wouldn't happen again..imagine going thru a state budget +++ all in 2 hours!!!.but as March 30 draws nearer press statements are being made daily from both sides.

1 don't cross the yellow line 2. Starting without the opposition

..last Friday "legal MB" Nizar requested to have a 5 day sitting as the opposition team has submitted over 200 questions to the speaker ( the March 30 meeting has been allocated for 2 day only) ...and requested for a pre-assembly meeting with Zambry for Monday 29th morning 9am ( there are alot of issues that need discussion) .... to which Zambry responded the next day "no i won't meet with them".
Regarding the 200+ questions submitted by the 28 opposition assemblymen Speaker Ganesan said "i only received 7 via email" and would answer those only. The remaining 21 sent via the Assembly Secretary would be 'rejected' as those did not give respect to the speaker.

....so the next day legal Speaker-1 Sivakumar showed Speaker-2 Ganesan the House Standing Orders Item 22(2) which stated ......

...the questions have to be "handed to the Secretary of the Assembly during office hours" and "not later than 14 days before the day on which the answer is required" ( pls view the standing orders below )

Apparently all the Opposition Assemblymen submitted their questions to the Secretary to which the Secretary acknowledged receipt by stamping their memos. (pls view acknowledgements below).

Speaker-1 Sivakumar has also high lighted a letter from Speaker-2 about Assemblymen entering the hall next Tuesday. The BN Assemblymen will enter the hall via Door-E via, elevator #6 between 10-1015am while the Opposition will enter via Door D, elevator #3 between 1015-1030am.

Last year on October 28 when Speaker-2 made this arrangement this is what happened( pls view photo evidence below) ...and after the scuffle the opposition were made to walk up the stairs...which is why the assembly started without them.....

...so do i think the assembly this time around will proceed incident free...welllllll.. ..though i hope proper discussions will take place this round...coz for the whole of last year every time they sat together "our elected representative" were like cats and dogs...i certainly would love to hear a progress report..and ... I am sure i am not the only one.. go on Zambry...make Nizars day ... answer all the 200+ questions...even if it has to take you 5 days...i want an answer...

cheers!

RM52 bilion Saham Bumiputera Hilang

Monday, 29 .
