Watch Live Press Conference of Seven NGOs Asking Court to Review Emergency Ordinance
Seven NGOs have decided to file an originating summons today and seek court declarations on issues related to the Emergency (Essential Powers) Ordinance 2021 in order to protect the role of Parliament and Judiciary in ensuring checks and balances during emergency.
The seven NGOs, namely the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (BERSIH 2.0), Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM), Center for Independent Journalism (CIJ), Aliran, The Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH), Pergerakan Tenaga Akademik Malaysia (GERAK) and Save Rivers will have an online press conference on the legal action at:
