Kami tidak ada NAMA, TIDAK ADA KUASA DAN PANGKAT...yang membolehkan kami mengerah dan mengarah pihak tertentu mencarikan FERIS untuk kami...

Kami bukan artis atau selebriti glamor untuk mendapatkan ruang yang besar di dada2 surat khabar yang berpengaruh...

Kami tidak ada ORANG DALAM yang boleh bawa kami terus ke dalam TV3, RTM,
ASTRO, atau apa-apa lagi bahagian penyiaran yang lain..supaya dapat siarkan gambar2 FERIS kami...

Kami tidak ada abang2 atau saudara mara yang banyak paku pada baju..yang membolehkan kami mencari FERIS di pelusok tanah tumpah kami sendiri...

Dan yang paling sedih...kami tidak mampu MEMBELI undang2 supaya banyak pihak sama2 kami mencari FERIS...

Ruling on Perak suspensions has far-reaching consequences


Aliran is terribly disappointed with the Federal Court’s ruling that the Speaker of the Perak State Assembly does not have the authority to suspend Zambry and his fellow exco members.
The ruling has far-reaching consequences for the democratic principle which respects the separation of powers of the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary.
The ruling has destroyed the notion that the separation of powers will be protected and preserved according to the rule of law by the Judiciary.
The Judiciary has once again failed the nation in upholding the rule of law in the interest of justice.

PERJUMPAAN DSAI DENGAN MASYARAKAT PENANTI BERHUBUNG DENGAN PILIHANRAYA KECIL JAM 8.30 MALAM NANTI

REAKSI DAN KONTRA PERLETAKAN JAWATAN YB FAIRUS

Permatang Pauh- Reaksi dan kontra berhubung perletakkan jawatan Yb Mohd Fairus Khairuddin sebagai ADUN Penanti dan Juga semua jawatan dalam kerajaan negeri Pualau Pinang.Ramai yang tahu akan kelemhan dan juga seolah-olah beliau langsung tidak melakukan sebarang tugas sebagai Timbalan Ketua Menteri Pualau Pinang.

Pihak Kami mengemukakan beberapa sms yang beredar di kalangan ahli dan masyarakat Permatang Pauh yang menunjukkan seolah-olah satu protes akan dilakukan secara senyap terhadap parti tersebut.

Saah satu sms yang di terima pihak kami berbunyi begini.

Perjuangan 98" ..Kita diajar lawan korupsi,kronisma,Nipotisme, dan satu lagi konspirator.Kami tak lupa Mahzab ini....Keadilan Untuk FAIRUS"


Siapa yang menjadi dalang dan menulis dalam Alahai Fairus TKM1 sehingga kini belum pasti .Cuma ada beberapa pihak mendakwa DSAI telah mengetahui dalangnya kerana telah diberikan satu laporan lengkap dan menurut sumber lagi ianya melibatkan beberapa individu dalam parti.
Walau bagaimana pun,ianya adalah masalaah PKR dan kita menganggap bahawa ianya satu kelemahan dan masih gagal dibendung.Kita tahu DAP ada masalaah dalaman, PAS sedang dan akan juga bergolak dalam sedikit masa lagi , namun agak berbeza kerana PAS mengamalkan Syura iaitu dengan berunding dan DAP seolah-olah semacam PAS kerana parti ini telah lama menjadi pembangkang sejak azali walau PAS pernah tidur sebantal dengan Umno dan mimpi berlainan.

Oleh kerana menjadi pembangkang oposisi yang lama dalam negara, kedua-dua parri tersebut hampir berjaya menyelesaikan masalah dalaman yang dianggap boleh menjejaskan parti mereka dan tidak di londeh dikhalayak umum.Berlainan dngan apa yang sedang berlaku.Masyarakat seolah-olah menyalahkan orang lama dalam PKR kerana gagal membendung gejala ini walau telah lama mengetahui akan perkara ini.Ada yang menyatakan bahawa "tiada kuasa","masalah Fairus", malah ada pula yang "lepas tangan".


Kini ADUN Penanti akan menjadi medan sebenar bagi PKR menguji kesetiaan penyokongnya.Malah di dilihat dari rekodnya Penanti amat sensitif dengan kawasan mereka.Jatuh bangun UMNO dan oposisi dilihat sebagai trend bagi masyarakatnya.DSAI sendiri mungkin akan berkampung lama di kawasan ini bagi menangkis persoalan yang akan dibawa Umno.

Ramai yang kini mula merasa kecewa kerana dengan mengganggap Fairus hanya menghadapi situasi ini berseorangan dan pihak parti tidak mengindahkannya.Ramai pula yang menyatakan bahawa beliau tidak dengar cakap dan keras kepala.Namun alahai Fairus TKM1 berjaya menjatuhkan beliau dan ini kejayaan yang diluar jangka.Namun dalam masa yang sama, kini ramai pula yang mula bersimpati.Wanita Bahagian mula bertindak,pihak AMK sebahagiannya pula mula bertindak dengan persetujuan beberapa pemimpin peringkat penguruan PKR negeri.

Melihatkan kepada kegagalan perlantikan pengganti Yb Mohd Fairus, jelas DSAI sudah tahu secara mendalam akan situasi yang berlaku , dan khabarnya menunggu masa yang sesuai untuk bertindak melalui saluran parti.Jika Fairus menjadi mangsa ,pihak yang lain juga mungkin akan menjadi mangsa pula.Mungkin lebih mudah jika melantik 2 ahli berbangsa Melayu dalam PKR menjadi pengganti seperti YB Abdul Malek Kassim dan Yb Maktar dari Sungai Bakap.Namun dalam PKR apabila di tanya akan soalan ini ada yang menyatakan bahawa jika ingin melantik YB Abdul Malek, ianya telah lama dibuat oleh penasihat parti tersebut , dan YB ustz Maktar pula dilihat sebagai bukan pilihan dan mungkin sesuai untuk dilantik sebagai Exco.Namun peruntukan kerusi hanya 2 untuk Exco Melayu.Pertama sebagai Timbalan ketua Menteri dan Exco Agama dan beberapa potfolio lagi dalam kerajaan negeri dan juga peruntukan untuk Exco yang lain sebagaimana yang sedang di pikul YB Abdul Malek.


Namun, oleh kerana mungkin penasihat PKR mahukan calon yang sama di bawah Parlimen Permatan Pauh, maka kerana itulah ramai pula yang beranggapan bahawa Fairus "harus" dikorbankan demi melantik seorang calon TKM1 di Pulau Pinang.Maka kerana itu ada sms yang diterima lagi berhubung perkara ini ianya berbunyi

"Yb Fairus disuruh letak jawatan sertamerta.Bersiap untuk PRK di DUN Penanti.Clon PKR yang disebut menggantikan Fairus adalah Dr Mansor.Itulah KEADILAN".

Apa pun keadaan sudah menjadi bubur.Orang ramai di kampung-kampung mula menunding jari menyalahkan pihak yang menjatuhkan Fairus.Namun jika dikaji semula adakah benar laporan dalam Alahai fairus menjadi tekanan kepada beliau jika dilihat dari sudut yang lain.kenapa Fairus tidak menjadi sekental -kental seorang pahlawan yang punya semangat waja dalam jiwa beliau.Seharusnya lah pihak PKR mengambil tindakan awal dengan membendung dan berbincang.Ramai cerdik pandai dan juga ilmuan dalam parti dan tidak terbawa-bawa dengan semangat dalam parti yang kebanyakkan ahlinya meninggalkan parti nenek moyang mereka.Bagi kaum reformis yang tidak mendapat sebarang jawatan dan imbuhan melihat ini sebagai permulaan yang tidak begitu selesa untuk DUN Penanti.

Mengenai calon Dr mansor memang di kenali di Pulau Pinang,pernah berkhidmat di USM dan antara yang menformulakan TEKUN pada waktu itu dimana berjaya membantu kaum Melayu memulakan perniagaan.Namun Dr Mansor dilihat sebagai calon "Bad Luck" kerana sering tewas di tempat dimana beliau bertanding.mungkin Penanti ini akan menjadi medan bagi beliau menghapuskan kesan "tidak untung" yang di tanggung beliau.Ahli PKR harus menerima apa yang telah berlaku.Tidak meninggalkan parti walau dilihat ianya sukar buat permulaan.DSAI juga perlu bekerja keras memastikan orang DUN Penanti menyokong calon PKR.Ada lagi sms yang diterima dari ahli berbunyi seperti berikut

"Aku tak minat politik.Lain kali jangan sms pada aku lagi.Orang politik penipu.penat aku pangkah PKR.Ahli pelingkup parti"

Semua ni menunjukkan reaksi amarah.namun kita percaya DSAI ada penawarnya. Fairus vows to expose dirt on PKR if it does not clear his name

Mohammad FairusKhairuddinPENANG (April 16, 2009) : Former Penang deputy chief minister Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin who has fallen from grace vows to dig up dirt on Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and the Pakatan Rakyat state government if PKR does not clear his name in two weeks.

Fairus, who went into hiding after resigning the state's No. 2 post last month for allegedly being linked to illegal sand quarry activities, contacted Nanyang Siang Pau on Tuesday to convey this message and to clarify accusations made against him.

Speaking to a Nanyang reporter from Penang whom he trusted, the 33-year-old Penanti state assemblyman who claimed he was victimised by "his own people" said if PKR does not help him regain his reputation soon, he would not discount the possibility of calling for a media conference to tell all on PKR and the state government.

He said the expose concerns the inner workings of the PR and will have "far-reaching consequences".
He claimed it was because of his knowledge of PR's inner workings that they are hesitant to take action against him.
Fairus declined to reveal more and urged the reporter to be patient.

"I am innocent. They know what I can do. They must not force me (to do it)," he said, referring to those who victimised him.

He lamented that Selangor exco member Elizabeth Wong, former Kedah exco member V. Arumugam and himself are targets of victimisation, but unlike Wong and Arumugam, the party did not speak out for him or help clear his name.

"They are only exco members, while I am not only an exco member I am also the deputy chief minister, but they (the party) did not help me, because those who victimised me are 'my own people' from the party."

He said those who suggested that he go into hiding are also people from within the party, and their aim is to spare the party and de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim unnecessary attacks from detractors.

Fairus said he has yet to hear from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission on (MACC) that it is charging him over allegations of corruption.

This is probably because it does not have enough evidence against him, he said, adding that he is ready to cooperate with MCAC in its investigation so that his name can be cleared.
Fairus said claims that he was under-performing and absent from government functions were part of a "well-planned scheme to victimise him".

He said outside talk of his lack of service to voters were played up by the media.

Truth is, he said, he has served them well and he is liked by all communities.

He said the lack of publicity, which he blamed on his aides, on what he has done for his constituency gave rise to the misconception that he was not doing his job.

PERMATANG PAUH-Setelah hampir 2 bulan bermain teka teki kini khabar angin yang sahih dikatakan bertiup kencang akan adanya pilihanraya kecil DUN Penanti di Permatang Pauh ekoran p[erletakan jawatan Mohd Fairus Khairuddin.

Beliau yang sebelum ini melepaskan jawatan sebagai Exco dan Timbalan Ketua menteri 1 Pulau Pinang akhirnnya melepaskan jawatan sebagai ADUN Penanti.Cuma satu beliau masih punya prinsip untuk tidak mengistiharkan calon bebas atau pun melompatke mana-mana parti.

Beliau yang dikritik hebat dan melalui blog Aalahai Fairus TKM1 hari ini dikatakan akan menandatangani surat perletakan jawatan sebagai ADUN Penanti.Ianya di jangka akan melakukan demikian pada petang ini.

Sebelum ini menjadi tanda tanya mengenai adakah ADUN Batu Maung YB Abdul malik Kassim bakal menjadi TKM1, namun ramai yang meramalkan akan diadakan pilihanraya kecil di DUN Penanti sebagai satu keputusan di mana Adun di kawasan tersebut juga bakal menjadi Timbalan Ketua Menteri.Semua ini menjadi tandatanya dan penggumuman bakal di lakukan petang ini.

YB HAMDAN MENZIARAHI ADIK MOHD RAZALI

Permatang Pauh- YB Hamdan ADUN Permatang Pasir telah hadir untk menziarahi adik Mohd Razali yang koma dalam kemalangan yang berlaku sendirian dimana beliau menumpang menaiki motosikal bersama rakannnya 3 bulan lalu.

Kes kemalangan ini boleh dijadikan contoh teladan kepada golongan muda kerana ianya bukan sahaja akan menyusahkan dan membebankan ibubapa , malahan ianya akan memusnahkan masa depan anda sendiri.Kini adik Mohd Razali yang sepatutnya menduduki peperiksaan SPM, telah tidak mengenali sesiapa pun walau pun ibu bapa sendiri.

Kepada remaja di luar sana, menunggang motosikal haruslah punya kesedaran dan rasa tanggungjawab yang tinggi dan jangan ambil mudah sesuatu yang boleh mendatangkan bahaya kepada anda dan juga orang lain.

Dalam lawatan tersebut YB Hamdan berusaha mendapatkan bantuan melalui PUZ kerana belanja membeli susu khas amat tinggi kosnya disamping pampers.Ibu bapa masih setia menjaga anak yang malang ini walau tidak begitu mampu untuk memenuhi keperluan.Keluarga ini pula bukan dari keluarga yang senang.kepada anak remaja,hati-hati dalam membuat sesuatu kerana ianya melaibatkan orang tersayang di sekeliling anda.

I fought against the Japanese during their occupation (1941-45) with all my might, just as I did when the British returned to rule Malaya in 1945. Between 1945-48, when I agitated peacefully against the British, I was one of the CPM’s public representatives, openly organizing the masses for independence. Soon after the declaration of the Emergency. I was caught and imprisoned in British detention camps until 1952. It was a good thing that I managed to escape and join the 10th Regiment [of the Malayan National Liberation Army] with my close friend, Abdullah C.D. In December 1955, I participated in the Baling Talks with Chin Peng and Chen Tien. In 1989, I was one of the CPM’s representatives in the Phuket negotiations which resulted in the Haadyai Peace Accord of 2 December that same year. After appointing a lacklustre cabinet, Malaysia's new prime minister refused to answer questions from the media

Malaysia's sixth prime minister, Najib Tun Abdul Razak took office earlier this month, replacing Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. In Najib's first week, he failed key tests that show he can be his own man. He lost important by-elections, failed to address persistent scandals and selected a cabinet of lacklustre appointees that has not evoked confidence. He ran away from the press, declining to address basic questions about his government.

This poor beginning raises serious questions about his leadership and calls into question his ability to deliver on the reforms that are critical for Malaysia's future.
Before Najib took office he managed to win a strong mandate from within his own party's polls last month, as loyalists in his cohort rose to party leadership positions. Najib represents a third generation of leaders from the UMNO party that governs Malaysia. The first generation assumed office in independence, the second after the racial riots of 1969.

Najib's generation came into politics after 1969, and has matured under the shadow of Mahathir Mohamad, known for promoting economic progress while simultaneously closing political space and weakening political institutions. Najib's strong party showing was expected to set the stage for the new premier to introduce reforms and step out of the shadow of his predecessors. Early signs were good, as Najib's speeches highlighted reforms and the day after he took office he released 13 political prisoners held under the draconian Internal Security Act. Malaysians were pleasantly surprised with his first moves.

Skepticism reigned, however. After the five years of promise without delivery under Abdullah Badawi, Malaysians want results, not rhetoric. Many are not willing to give Najib the benefit the doubt. Part of this is his association with Abdullah's government, as deputy prime minister.
Another reason has to do with the heavy baggage of scandal that cloud Najib's leadership; his alleged connections with corruption in defence contract deals and links to a Mongolian model who was murdered by staff assigned to his security detail have damaged his reputation.

Last week, the two officers charged with blowing up the model were convicted. The government's response has been to ban the use of the model's name – Altantuya Shariibuu – further raising speculation about the crime and suspicions about Najib's involvement. There is no evidence that Najib was involved in the murder, but the lack of credibility that Najib faces – which is only enhanced when he refuses to answer questions – has hurt him.

An even darker shadow is Mahathir Mohamad. The former prime minister who governed Malaysia for 22 years systematically undermined Abdullah while he was in office. He has played a major role in mentoring the new generation of leaders, including Najib himself, and his values that have promoted Malay rights over those of other communities, undermined political institutions, deepened corruption and created a climate of insecurity among the elite that runs deep.

Najib is seen to be under the thumb of Mahathir. While this gives the former premier too much credit, the reality is that Mahathirism remains a force that must be addressed and Mahathir himself remains a political player in his agenda setting role.

These factors played out in three recent by-elections when more than 100,000 voters went to the polls. Najib's coalition lost two of the three contests. The contest it did win – Batang Ai in rural Sarawak – was the result of massive allocations of patronage (RM70 million in promises for 8,006 voters) and included allegations of ballot box tampering. Voters in West Malaysia in two traditionally strong seats for Najib's government, gave the Pakatan opposition coalition led by Anwar Ibrahim larger majorities.

These results were the product of greater opposition cooperation and the inability of the governing coalition to reach across races. Non-Malays voted in large majorities for the opposition. They were joined by large numbers of Malays who rejected the use of Mahathir for Najib's campaign and were tired of the endemic corruption in the system. Najib stayed away from the campaigns, showing that he is not ready to face the public directly. He received a sharp rebuke.

Najib had the opportunity to stem the tide of negative perceptions through his cabinet selections. Here too, he disappointed. The majority appointees are recycled old faces and Najib loyalists. While many of them are among the cleaner alternatives and his choices in finance and trade show promise, the inclusion of Mahathir's son, and reliance on his close allies who are seen to not make the grade do not build confidence.

This cabinet follows in the Mahathir mould, one that appears to focus on the economy and exclude the need for political reform. It does not include individuals who appear willing to address the albatross on Malaysia's economic competitiveness, the pro-Malay affirmative action policy, the New Economic Policy, that has become a vehicle for corruption. After announcing his list, Najib refused to answer questions.

Najib is running away from addressing the factors that will hamper his government. He lacks public support. He is trapped by the system he inherited, the shadows of Abdullah's unmet reform promises and Mahathir's hardline approach. He faces a stronger and more cohesive opposition. Najib's style is more measured, but in these challenging times and in the light of his public credibility issues, the tepid responses have disappointed.

With each passing day that the new prime minister fails key tests, his tenure is shortened. Najib cannot continue to avoid the fact that his political survival is based on winning over the Malaysian public and bolder measures that deliver reform are essential.

The Bourbons of Malaysia

TOP Umno leaders involved in two recent events – the by-elections in Bukit Selambau in Kedah and Bukit Gantang in Perak (the two Bukits) as well as the claim this country’s independence was forged by Umno and the Malay Rulers and no one else – bring to mind French statesman Talleyrand’s description of the Bourbons: "They have forgotten nothing and learned nothing."

Talleyrand’s comment was prompted by his exasperation with Louis XVIII who behaved as if the French Revolution in 1789 had never occurred. Instead of acknowledging the missteps that led his predecessor, Louis XVI, to the guillotine, Louis XVIII and his successor tried to recreate the ancien regime. Bourbon obduracy resulted in the July 1830 Revolution that ended the French monarchy.

Similarly, those who choreographed the electoral strategy of the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the two Bukits and those who persist in arrogating Umno’s status in the ruling coalition appear to have forgotten the message delivered by voters in the March 2008 general election and to have learned nothing from it. Many analysts, including myself, have suggested BN’s massive losses last year were due to voter disappointment with Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi’s inability to deliver in full the reforms promised in the 2004 elections – more openness and greater accountability from politicians as well as institutions.

Instead of re-dedicating themselves to implementing the ruling coalition’s partially fulfilled promises, BN masterminds reverted to the tried – but tired – strategy of offering more development projects and criticising opposition leaders. And in a gesture intended to recall the halcyon days under the fourth premier, they invited Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to campaign in the two Bukits.

Despite BN’s success in labelling Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin a traitor for refusing to accept his dismissal as mentri besar by the Perak sultan – a tactic that cost the Opposition a slippage in Malay support – PAS managed to widen its majority significantly in the Bukit Gantang by-election from March last year.

Another Pakatan Rakyat (PR) component party, Parti Keadilan Rakyat, also succeeeded in retaining Bukit Selambau by a bigger majority, even though Hindraf, an Indian pressure group, was initially enraged by the opposition coalition’s choice of a political neophyte as its standard bearer.

BN’s losses in the two Bukits – both Malay-majority seats – and by a larger margin of votes, suggests the futility of the ruling coalition relying solely on Malay voters to secure victory, a trend already evident in the March 2008 general election. Voting trends in the two by-elections and in the March 2008 polls are Malaysia’s equivalent of the French Revolution.

Yet another example of selective amnesia is the stunning assertion this country’s independence was forged by Umno and the Malay Rulers and no one else. This claim is historically inaccurate, politically regressive and detrimental to the ethos of sharing the credit for victories and the blame for setbacks among BN component parties.

Many historians have noted the British government had set a pre-condition to granting this country independence: power would be handed over only to a multiracial party. It was this pre-condition that prompted Umno leaders to work together with their counterparts from the MCA.
A landslide victory in the country’s first federal elections in 1955 – the Umno-MCA alliance won 51 out of 52 seats and polled 80% of the popular vote – proved multiracial cooperation could be a vote-getter.

Furthermore, the political understanding reached by party leaders on three key issues – citizenship rights for the Chinese and Indians, the special position of the Malays and the primacy of Bahasa Malaysia – highlighted the ability of Umno and MCA leaders to work together to forge a common vision, thus meeting the pre-condition for independence.

What is worrying is unilateralism appears to be a recent and growing trend in Umno. This compares unfavourably with the increasing solidarity – with some notable exceptions – demonstrated by PAS, DAP and Keadilan towards one another.

One noteworthy example: PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat’s strong support for Perak DAP leader, Nga Kor Ming, who was strongly criticised by Umno for reciting verses from the Quran. According to Malaysiakini website, in a letter to the DAP leader, Nik Aziz praised Nga for his action and described Umno’s attitude as "unfriendly".

Would an Umno leader do the same for his counterpart in MCA or any other component party over a Malay/Muslim issue?
To be sure, the new cabinet line-up with several new and promising ministerial appointments, reflect Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s awareness of the need for change.

Change, however, must be embraced by all Umno politicians. Umno leaders should remember that only a radical change in their mindset – rather than a change in prime minister – will help BN to avoid becoming the Bourbons of Malaysia.

Selain itu ianya juga menjelaskan tetang kedudukan YB Mohd fairus dimana sehingga kini YB Fairus kekal sebagai ADUN Penanti, walau beliau telah melepaskan jawatan sebagai TKM1 dan juga EXCO kerajaan negeri.

Nizar elected, BN rejected; fresh Perak elections needed

The Barisan Nasional has suffered four deadly blows in a row. Umno has been soundly defeated on three occasions since Marc 8, 2009. The outcome of these by-elections have confirmed that there is no stopping the Pakatan no matter what crafty means the BN adopts or devices to reach out to the electorate.

For Umno the results have been devastating. It has not recovered lost ground neither has it revived its fortunes. It has been downhill all the way in spite of changing its president and acclaiming him as the sixth prime minister of Malaysia.

Dato Seri Najib going down to the ground without any fanfare dressed in ordinary clothes; meeting ordinary people and eating vadai in crowded Brickfields; addressing the nation propounding the concept of one Malaysia; bringing in Tun Mahathir to turn the tide on the last day of campaigning – all this did not make any difference. Fixing a weekday for polling, imposing so many restrictions to handicap the opposition did not provide any advantage to the BN. If anything, it only made the people angry and motivated the electorate to punish the BN.

The peninsula victories of the Pakatan over the BN has driven home the fact rather convincingly that the March 8 election was no fluke. They reaffirmed that the ground has indeed shifted in favour of the Opposition. The results must be viewed as a damning referendum on Najib, Umno, BN and the government. The electorate have rejected the BN overwhelmingly and have sent a clear signal that they are not going to tolerate any more nonsense from Umno and the BN.
When they elected a political novice and rejected a seasoned politician in Bukit Selembau, it was meant to spite the BN and MIC. When they elected Dato Nizar in Bukit Gantang with a majority almost twice that of the previous one exactly a year later, it was meant to punish the BN and send a strong signal to Najib that they were thoroughly disgusted with him for engineering the fall of their duly elected Perak state government.

The significance of Bukit Gantang must be seriously taken into account. It is abundantly clear that Perakians want Nizar’s government to continue to serve them. It is their preferred. chosen government and they have given the thumbs down to Dato Zambry.

Aliran hopes that this message will not go unnoticed. This is why Aliran would like to appeal - yet again - to His Royal Highness, the Sultan of Perak, to reconsider his decision. The Perak government cannot be in a limbo, especially in these difficult times of economic uncertainties. We earnestly appeal to His Royal Highness to allow his subjects to decide on the government of their choice in a fresh election. Aliran would also like to appeal to Zambry to do the only honorable thing for which he will be remembered. Please resign and pave the way for fresh elections.

Najib’s new cabinet*

There had been speculation that the new cabinet would be smaller than the previous one. Well, it’s smaller in the sense there are 28 ministers now compared to the previous 32. But it is bigger in another sense. There is an increase in the number of deputy ministers: there are now 40 compared to 38 in the previous administration.


Whether the new line-up will make much difference to the lives of the Malaysians remains to be seen.

Words have been uttered on numerous occasions promising change and performance. But each time these words proved to be hollow and disappointing when what was promised was not delivered.


The majority of ministers are from the previous cabinet; they were part of a government that had failed to deliver and fulfil the expectations of the public. That was why they paid the price in the 8 March 2008 general election.


Now they have been assembled once again under a new leadership and it is left to be seen whether this new grouping will deliver on the Prime Minister’s promises.
We will wait and see.

Former Malaysian Indian minister told to explain bribe charge

Kuala Lumpur, April 10 (IANS) A former Malaysian Indian minister, who has returned after a two-month stay in India's Chennai city, has been asked to explain the charge that he was offered a bribe to quit his party that is in the opposition.

The Star newspaper Friday said V. Arumugam had been "whisked away" after he charged that he was offered RM five million ($380,000 approx.) for quitting the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) headed by former deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Soon after he made his charge and quit as the deputy chairman of the party's Kedah state unit, he "went missing" and was understood to have left for India.

Arumugam sent in his resignation letter to the Kedah assembly speaker, both as the state minister and as legislator.
The speaker and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) wanted to find out if the letter was genuine and the signature on it was not under duress.

Now that he has returned, the commission is hoping Arumugam would help it investigate his claim, the report said.
Arumugam could volunteer information to the ACC instead of waiting for it to look him up, an official said.

Arumugam's alleged disappearance was also attributed to his marital problems, but was later denied.
The newspaper said that Arumugam, his wife Mariaee and their daughter and son were lodged "in a safe house" on their return.

A PKR official said the living arrangements were "for the family's safety".
