Anwar sodomising again?…
June 29, 2008 by drrafick
Dear Fellow Malaysians
I am sadden by the news that Anwar aide’s, En Saiful Bahari has lodge a police report claiming that he was sodomized by Anwar. There was no details mention in the news about the alleged sodomy police report. It is indeed sad, if this allegation is found to be true. It is more sad if it is found to be untrue and is politically motivated
Why now !
While SMS is being spread and Anwar supporters has now begins to gather around him, it raises some questions on the issue of the latest police report. As if we are still not over the reeling of shock surrounding RPK SD over Najib’s wife involvement in the Althantuya case, the nation is now being fed with another story.
On the surface, it appears that, the allegation was made while Rosmah (Najib) issue is being talked about. With this new story, I believe the alleged Rosmah involvement in the Althantuya murder will be drown in the heaps of media “explosion” over the Anwar case.
I worries for the Nation..
While I am not surprised by the latest police report, I am worried about the impact of this latest police report. Allow me to explain why.
Pak Lah is not Mahathir..
While Mahathir is respected as being one of the intelligent leaders the world ever produces, he is a political maverick. He was able to handle Anwar case calmly and was able to bring the nation back on its track despite the financial crisis.
The same cannot be said about Pak Lah. Our present PM is indeed a nice man but being a nice man is not enough to lead a nation. I am worried that Anwar supporters will start a riot. Compared to before, today five states government are behind Anwar and this can only creates more problems. I am worried that the Government of the day may not be able to handle a nationwide riot. I am one very worried man. I am worried about the country, my family and my neighbors.
If in the Mahathir- Anwar crisis, the people was angry but they were not actually burden but today the people is angry. They are burden by the high cost of living. I believe many people out there believe Anwar story that he could actually brings down the cost of fuel and i.e. the cost of living. I am afraid that the people that is worst affected by the fuel price hike may just use this latest situation to release their steam. Today, the ball game is different. The playing field is not the same in 1998. Today people are upset and I think it is unwise for anyone to pour petrol on something that is hot.
Anwar and its people backlash…
Anwar and his people are not about to sit down and do nothing with this new allegation. Based on what was reported in M/Kini and M/Today, there are already people gathering in Shah Alam. I urged all people to remain calm. I urge all state government to remain neutral. The new allegation is a personal matter between two individuals.
Whom am I referring to? While some would postulate that is a matter between Saiful and Anwar but if you stretch your imagination a little bit more then you will realized that it is probably a political game between the nation power brokers. This is not a simple issue of sodomy.
Power brokers fighting?
There is a malay proverb that says “ Bila Gajah bergaduh, Pelanduk mati ditengah tengah”. Use your imagination and guess what I mean. Guess who is the “Gajah” . Guess who is the “pelanduk”. In my assessment, Pak Lah is not the “Gajah” (he is more like a tapir!) and the people is the “Pelanduk”. We need to ask who would benefit from the latest round of police report. By the way, isn’t Gajah is the official mascot of one state in Malaysia.
I urge all Malaysian to remain calm. I want to give the same advice that I gave to my troops while I was serving the Army during the height of Anwar – Mahathir crisis. My men listen to me that time and I hope all readers would spare some thoughts on what I am about to say.
“The Sermon”
Politics is never about the people in the streets. Politics is about power and position. No matters whoever goes up, the “real” interest is not the people but it is about power and position. No matter who wins in this power struggle, the people will not gain anything. Rioting will not bring any good to the people. It will make things worst.
My advice to everyone is to stay at home and watch a movie or spend time with their family. That is better. Even is Anwar goes up, he cannot do any miracle of the nation coffer is empty. He can only deliver his promises if he can find ways to increase the nation’s income. I believe any riots will reduce the nation income further. At the current moment, I have my doubt that Anwar can actually raise the nation income and deliver his promises to reduce the people cost of living.
Making promises is one thing and delivering what is being promised is another matter. Do not expect miracles at the time when the whole world is feeling the pinch of fuel speculators. I say it again, stay out of this fight between all power brokers. Do not give an excuse for the Federal Government to impose martial law and take over the governance of the five states. Think again, think hard and think rationally.

KENYATAAN AKHBAR HUSAM MUSA
Liwat: Usaha terancang sekat kemaraan Pakatan kuasai Putrajaya
Salmah Mat Husain

- mj _

ANWAR TAKES REFUGE IN TURKISH EMBASSY
Anwar takes refuge in Turkish embassy
Jun 29, 08 5:48pm
PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, who said he feared for his life, has sought refuge at the Turkish embassy in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
MCPXHe went to the embassy at 6am and according to PKR vice-president, he would be there "indefinitely".
The following is his full statement released at 5.30pm:
I am issuing this statement from within the embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Kuala Lumpur.
I was transported to the embassy earlier this morning fearing that my personal safety was in danger. I thank all those who offered to assist me in this time of need and am grateful to the Turkish ambassador for extending an invitation to seek refuge within the embassy.Since the March 8 elections, numerous credible sources from within the government and military intelligence have advised me that certain agents from within Barisan Nasional leadership have initiated plots to cause harm to me or my family or my supporters.
I have been told that my assassination has not been ruled out as means to subvert the people's will and bring an end to the transformational changes taking place in Malaysia.Notwithstanding the threats which are intended to silence my voice, I intend make public new evidence implicating that the inspector-general of police Musa Hassan and attorney-general A Gani Patail engaged in criminal acts of fabricating evidence in cases launched against me in 1998.
The allegations that have been made against me on Saturday are nothing more than a replay of the events which transpired in 1998 when I was sacked from the office of the deputy prime minister, jailed and beaten, and then charged and convicted by a kangaroo court for crimes which I never committed.
This charade was orchestrated by a corrupt Barisan Nasional leadership which made use of the entire apparatus of the state power including its control of the judiciary, the police force, and its grip on the mainstream media.
These actions are being repeated today to undermine the forces of reform and renewal which were unleashed in the March 2008 elections.I would like to assure my family, friends and supporters in Malaysia that I am safe and remain committed as ever before to continuing the struggle for a free and just Malaysia.

Wan Nordin Wan Yaacob Sun Jun 29, 08 2:13:55 pm MYT

ANWAR DAKWA LAPORAN SATU TINDAK BALAS-MALAYSIAKINI
Anwar dakwa laporan polis satu tindak balas
Jun 29, 08 2:19am

A police report has been lodged against PKR

Anwar expecting the worst
Party sources said that Anwar was chairing a party supreme council meeting at a hotel in Shah Alam when he received an SMS at about 9pm on Saturday night about the police report lodged against him.He apparently then told the party leaders that his aide Saiful had been missing for two days."He then received another SMS at about 9.30pm and his face changed dramatically after reading that SMS," a party insider told Malaysiakini."He did not reveal the details of the SMS but merely said that the situation was very serious," added the insider.Anwar is said to have left the supreme council meeting to meet his lawyers until about 11pm.The council however continued their meeting without Anwar.Party leaders are saying that they have to be prepared for any eventuality.
DAP's veteran leader Lim Kit Siang wrote in his blog that he had spoken to Anwar over the phone and that the PKR leader was expecting the worst.Press statement at 1.30am
Anwar issued a press statement at about 1.30am, saying that the report lodged against him was a "complete fabrication".The following his statement in full:"The police report lodged against me earlier today is a complete fabrication. I believe we are witnessing a repeat of the methods used against me in 1998 when false allegations were made under duress. This is clearly a desperate attempt by the Barisan Nasional regime to arrest the movement of the Malaysian people towards freedom, democracy and justice. "The report has been organised by interested parties to attack me in retaliation for evidence I have recently obtained implicating IGP (inpector-general of police) Musa Hassan and the AG (attorney-general) Gani Patail in misconduct including fabrication of evidence in the cases launched against me in 1998-1999. This vile attack will not prevent me from releasing this dossier to the public. "I urge the Malaysian people to stand against the repressive forces that will be unleashed by the government in the coming days and weeks. We expect the media, the judiciary and the police force to all come under the direct and unchecked control of the executive. "My fellow Malaysians - we took a bold step forward on March 8 towards a new dawn for freedom and justice for all of our citizens. This people's movement for change must go on with all of our strength and conviction."
Accused of sodomy in 1997
Meanwhile, at about 1am about 400 people had gathered outside the hotel in Shah Alam to ensure that nothing happened to Anwar.
The party leaders and Anwar's lawyer SN Nair also held a press conference at the Shah Alam hotel at about 1.30am where they distributed Anwar's statement. Anwar, a former deputy prime minister and finance minister of Malaysia, was sacked from the government in 1997 for allegedly being involved in sodomy and abuse of power.
In 1999, he was sentenced in a highly controversial trial to six years in prison for corruption, and in 2000, to another nine years for alleged homosexual acts.
However in 2004, the Federal Court - the country's highest court - reversed the second conviction and he was released.
Anwar has always maintained that the charges were a government hatched political conspiracy against him, a move denied by the government.
